The Ray Barton / A2Speed 6.4L to 7.0L 426 HEMI Crate Engine

The 6.4L, 392 CID to 426 CID HEMI crate engines are completely forged, and fully capable of handling enormous amounts of horse power. We can set these engines up to withstand 1000+ HP & 1000+ torque. This HEMI power plant can be set up for boosted and NA applications. No matter what your power goals A2Speed can help you achieve them. There are no core charges on our crate engines, but we are willing to take exchanges for credits.

A2Speed 6.4 to 426 HEMI Crate Engine Specs

The 6.4L block provides an excellent platform for our 426 crate engines. The cylinder doesn’t require any boring, it only needs to be honed. The motor can be built for both boosted and naturally aspirated applications.

  • Boosted Compression Ratio: 9.8 : 1
  • Naturally Aspirated Compression Ratio: 11 : 1

HEMI Rotating Assembly Components, Features, & Benefits:

The rotating assembly is the heart of every HEMI. A2Speed and Ray Barton are dedicated to providing only the best performance parts in our crate engines. This means only using high quality forged rotating assembly parts from the best manufacturers such as Molnar, Diamond, CP-Carrillo, and King Bearings. The combination between high quality material and manufacturers that are dedicated to maintaining tight quality control result in a top of the line GEN III HEMI crate engine.

Creating the HEMI's Short Block:

  • Machine Shop
    • Verify Deck Surface
    • Verify Bore Centerlines
    • Hone Cylinders w/Honing Plate
    • Install Billet Main Caps (Optional)
    • Line Hone
    • Supply and Install Plugs at Oil Squirters
    • Clearance Block / Pistons (If Required)
    • Balance Rotating Assembly
    • Cut Crankshaft for Woodruff Key (If Required)
  • Short Block Final Assembly
    • Paint Block 6.1, 6.4: HEMI Orange, 5.7: Black
    • Install ARP Main Studs
    • Install Crankshaft and Main Bearings, Maintain 0.0003 – 1” Tolerance @ bearings and 0.0005" Runout
    • Cut and Fit Piston Rings
    • Install Pistons and Connecting Rods; Maintain 0.0003 – 1” tolerance @ bearings and 0.0005” tolerance @ piston to cylinder wall.
    • Install Rear Main Seal
